Just wondered what we all did for gas bottles?

Local gas and air shop ie like a boc dealer etc , i think you pay for example £75 for the gas and like a £40 deposit on the bottle etc roughly thats how my local dealer runs anyway prices are off the top of my head.

Seen a few like that. Big up front cost then just £40 ish everytime you refill / exchange it. Might see if I can acquire an empty bottle cheap.

Up I use air products, buying from boc is a pain in the arse and cougar argon mix is really good I find.

Boc do argon mix but I never liked it that much.

I know poeple use co2 but in my mind if what your weddings dirty you shouldn't weld it !!

As a general rule, argon for nice clean stuff, co2 for dirty rusty stuff

I think I pay £35 a refil for a full size 5ft bottle.

And yearly subscription is about £50/£70.

Been using those C02 / argon disposables. Had pretty good welds out of that mix just use them so quickly.

Anyone ever used hobbyweld?

£95 for FIVE years bottle rent, and only £30 for a refill. Not bad for a 10L bottle of argon mix.

So if your passing him in the truck, well worth popping in.

Disposables VERY expensive.

You don't have an empty disposable bottle knocking about do you? I have a plan for one

I use 95% argon 5% co2 mix, it's the best for bodywork I've found straight Co2 is a bit crap for bodywork as it creates a hotter weldpool so you are more likely to blow through.

I use rent free gas from Southwest gas supplies. it's £50ish deposit on the bottle and then £45 for each refill.

Sounds very similar to the hobbyweld, think I'll go down that route. £60 for the bottle and £30 for the gas. Rent free use it as much / for as long as you want. £30 a refill and £60 deposit refunded on return of the bottle. Got a stockist 10mins away which is also pretty helpful.

i use a calor gas shop in grimsby
iirc £40 then £35 per refill(depending on gas,pure argon is £50)
thats for a 3ft ish tall bottle(cant remember actual size )
