Jimny Power Steering Conversion On SJ
I Know This Has Been Done Millions & Millions Of Times But To Do A Jimny Power Steering Conversion On A SJ You Need
Jimny Box
Vitara Pump
Vitara Bottom Pulley
Vitara Belts
Vitara Res & Pipes
No Need For Any Other Pulleys etc
Does Anyone Have Pics/ Plans For Doing This
Don't Know If It Makes Any Difference But Mine Is A SJ410 With A 1300 Engine
Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated

Re: Jimny Power Steering Conversion On SJ
You can use the jimny reservoir and pipes but in my opinion neither the vit or jimny pipes fit very well. I had custom flexi pipes made.
Vitara pulleys are easiest but the bottom pulley needs re drilling to 4 stud instead of 5 stud. Not sure how easy it is to swap the alternator pulley over, or if a vit alternator will fit onto a 1.3?

I drilled vitara bottom pulley to four stud fixing, then changed water pump and alternator to vit pulley"s and run on flat belts.

Re: Jimny Power Steering Conversion On SJ
Just wondering why anyone wants power steering? I ran 31" tyres on my old SJ, never had any problems and I was using a 13" steering wheel too. Seems like more to go wrong and adding more weight.
If it ticks over...leave it

I found it fine on 31/10.50 but slow maneuvering on the 33/12.50s was a lot harder. PAS is a god send on 33s and over.donkeychomp wrote:Just wondering why anyone wants power steering?
