From the far side

Post by steve853 » Wed Jan 06, 2010 12:42 am

Hi all, just wanted to say Hello from snowy Lincolnshire. Got my first suzie in December, using her for going to work in the bad weather, and driving round fields and stuff on my days off.

I have a 1992 lwb 413, rattles and bounces, lots of trim missing inside, so glove compartment falls open at every bump, wires all over the place, and wetter inside than out (i never realised you could get so much condensation inside a car!) All the car I ever wanted!

She will have problems fixed when the weather gets better, all brakes need sorting, and the "heater/ blower" needs taking down the back yard and shooting.

A bit smoky, burnt about 2 litres of oil since I bought her! I'm thinking of an engine change later this year, if not that then a strip down and rebuild, new rings maybe?!! It'll be nice to have a dry day to lay underneath, I had to change brake pipes in the snow last week!

Once the sun comes up again I'll be able to go to work on the bike and get amongst em, tll then I just get wet feet and cold hands. Though thats what wellies and gloves were invented for I guess

Bought her at the end of last year. One of the guys I work with wanted rid of the wheels and tyres so I got them for £80 off his Vitara. The only mods are a home made dog guard, and two new front seats from a Fiat Bravo - mine had collapsed, and the serpentine springs hurt a bit.

I do intend to do some modifications, but it's mainly going to stay as is. Apart from the engine. And suspension. And the radio currently only lights up the footwell, so I'll have to do something about that. Not that I can hear myself think at over 40mph.

Can't wait for the summer when I can get the lids off and go shooting in her - off road, roof off, and guns. what more could I ask for??!!
