Post by minibreaker » Sun Nov 17, 2013 4:58 pm

hi when i order my brake pads will i get all the little metal retaining clips that fit to the caliper as one of my calipers has no clips. these clips are thin metal that hold the pads in. if not in with the pads where can i get some thanks

most of the time it will depend on the make of the pads you order. if its a decent make you may well get the retainer clip with the pads, if not ask for a brake pad fitting kit from your local factor as they should be able to get one for ya

Ignore the prices it's an old screen save, but they are still listed.

Is this one of those really important things that the brakes wont work properly without?

:er: those clips aren't at all fiddly? you put them in then you put the pad in and jobs a good'un :thefinger:

I seem to have more issues with spanish calipers sticking as well, I've ended up with spanish ones on the front and jap on the rear and the fronts have been stripped and cleaned quite a few more times than the rear.

They're more fiddly than not having them there at all, and its another bit to loose if you're doing the work in the dark ;)
I've only had 1 sticky caliper on mine in the 8 years Ive owned it... although ended up replacing it anyway as the bleed nipple snapped off!
