i think i might keep it standard hight as the extra width i have means it doesnt roll lol..

A cheap lift would be just fitting +2 inch springs on the front and shackles on the rear, before anyone crucifies me for suggesting shackles they are fine on the rear as they don't dig in they don't alter the Ackerman angle at all, my calmini reverse shackle 3.5" lift kit is made up from 1.5" springs all round with 2" shackle reversal towers on the front and 2" lift shackles on the rear

and then there is extened brakes hoses, extended shocks...

need new brake hoses anyway..

2" lift springs on the rear and then doing a rear springs up front is a better way to go I think, will ride and flex better too ;)

Hang on a sec though Luke, lifting an SJ on the front springs with shackles (or any other lift) doesn't effect the Ackerman angle, you are thinking of the Caster angle ;)

What do effect the Ackerman angle are most full high steer conversions.

Sorry my mistake :er: I meant castor! Your right There is always the rear up front but I was thinking interms of hassle as you would only have to swap one set of springs, although I do think rear up front would give the zook more articulation and possibly better handling?

IMHO if your going to replacing your brake hoses any way, buy ones that are +2" as that way you have the option to lift it in the future, you can always tuck the extra hose to one side,

Av got some rav 4 shocks on mine can pik them up cheep i just have a rav 4 lyeing around so niked them off that and the ruf and rascle does ride better than the reverse shakle av drove with both done the ruf does roll alot more tho but the articulationnoffroad is alot better i think cos i use mine as a daily drive i find it two soft and rolly with the ruf and callmini shocks are only like 40 odd quid each new

I would like to do a lift but don't want to make it way to fall over again, with my wide wheels it improves the handling a lot..

2" lift won't make it fall over :lol: I used to drive my SJ like a mad man with 2" lift :lol:

Its a little bit more wobbly but definitely usable!!!

As long as you are proportionately as wide as your are tall it should handle roughly like a standard truck
