Be Prepared!

Post by kibris » Sat May 25, 2013 12:14 pm

Hi all - has anyone had any issues with the facet low pressure pumps? mine has been great for the last 2 years - untill Thursday night when it packed up on the kyrenia bypass on my way to a night out! Bollox!!! the thing is totally dead. However comma :) for reasons known only to myself last year I bought a spare :salute: and am I glad i moved it last year from under the back to under the bonnet! (thanks twiss) much easier to get to on the roadside with Cypriot drivers belting past!!! so unde4 the bonnet i went, alas the toolbox was at home :( all i had was a pair of scissors from the first aid kit and a roll of sticky tape!! any way changed the pump and all is well again! just finished fitting it properly today....... will be ordering another spare just in case! tested it just bnow the thing is totally dead. Thats the problem with electric pumps the go without warning, at least the mechanical ones die slowlyy!

Fortunately I seem to be able to suck just enough fuel to run even with the pump off (when kept at high revs!)
