Yeah. Doesn't matter what car now though, all insurance for new drivers is sky high.

Wow - Dan, that's impressive! I know that cars have become safer and safer lately (a crash that would have killed you in a 1990's car will generally leave you shaken up but walking away in a car from the last 10 years or so), but I also thought that the SJ probably wasn't as safe as some more contemporary cars.
I guess being sat on a nice steel ladderframe chassis has some real benefits! You'd walk away from that crash with bruises. Most other cars designed in the era the SJ was would probably have folded up fairly neatly, with squishy driver/passenger gumbo leaking out all over the road.

1985 SJ413VX (SJ50V) with SPOA, rear disc brakes, 31x10.5R15 Kaiman Malatesta tyres, an MOT and a lot left to do!

well after rolling one i think they are pritty safe and i was going about 50mph into a corner think i thought i was in my old ford sierra
