Re: Onother Suspension question
Hi Anton, no mate we didn't speak about grease or tapes on the springs - EKTOZ here is a link http://forum.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/vi ... =15&t=2293
Nice fast work my friend I admire the speed and determination! Can't wait to see it. I was talking to Panos in Nicosia who has just done this (CJ's front and rear) and he says it is a 100% improvement! He was seriously considering spending 2K on a coil set up but did the CJ's and absolutely loves it! Chris, he did play around with his spring packs quite a bit and has removed a good number so he is soft and flexy.

Re: Onother Suspension question
I'm considering a coil setup, partly because coils are cool, but more importantly because I have family members with spinal issues, and I don't want to cripple 'em.
So now I'm wondering if I should consider YJ/CJ springs with either PTFE tape or greased with leather bindings (I've heard that if you grease the leaves you should bind them with leather to keep the dirt out and the grease in).
A bit like my engine thoughts though, this is something that can wait until the thing is back on the road and re-bodied, so I have plenty of time to research the best solutions.

Re: Onother Suspension question
Thanks for all the help guys and expecially to my friend Jeff.
The car is finally finished, i will post some flexy sexy pictures later, yes dan the front lower is fiberglass
i was thinking between the leafs to put teflon plates but i will see later on, is not that important for me
if i dont have any noise.

Re: Onother Suspension question
There's no need for Teflon between the leaves in YJs as they already have 'slipper' pads not sure if CJ springs do though?

the CJ's have also slipper pads but on the rear are missing because i got them used, on front there all in place because they are new.

Re: Onother Suspension question
That's a damned fine shiney you've built!
Gonna seriously think about anus leaves now. I think I'd need to ride in a YJ or CJ sprung SJ before deciding - I know a Lada Niva rides like silk over rough terrain compared to my SJ, which seems to think my spine is not compact enough...
Anyhow, top work ectoz - that's a gorgeous SJ!
