Yeah you've gotta take your time welding SJ axles, they are so easy to warp while welding, looking good though dude!

Yeh il get there in the end.
Rear prop has a seized uj too now !! Have to get hold of a landcruiser uj !!

It would be somewhere like that wouldn't it.
How are they? Seem good quality and strong? Tidy fit to the axle?
Overall coat if you don't mind including import taxes and all the crap.
I'm very cautious about US suppliers after my carry on with calmini several years ago.

i've used low range and the service was very good i thought
if in doubt, FLAT OUT!

Honestly if this axle bends il cry like a little girl !!
Just need to clean up some of the welds, paint the axle, bolt it all together.
Then prop, then winch, then service.

I'd like to do something similar to my rear axle, but I want to truss it top, front and back, and weld a pumpkin cap of some kind over the pumpkin (similar to yours, actually).
My plan is to tack weld the pieces in place, then weld between the tacks one by one - giving the thing time to cool down before going on to the next weld, so hopefully I won't bend the axle housing.
I have a 413 axle that I'm hoping to convert to full floater (so it's close to the width of my sammy front axle). Fingers crossed I can A) Find the money for the full floater kit (oooh, new shiny phone - blam, there goes the budget...)
And B) I don't bork the axle. Wouldn't be the end of the world if I did, the Sammy axle under the SJ would simply have to do - but you don't want to spend and do work only to find you've made a really big paperweight...
Anyhow, all the best mate - hope it doesn't go bananas like the last time!

This one has moved as I welded it, but I welded the opersite side to pull it back, you have to be so careful. Two inches max, quench then swop sides or ends. Stop every few mins as well.
