Has any one here ever used a hand winch for recovery? I was thinkin of getting one, but not sure if they would be any good.

Maybe a little pricey, but thats brand new.

You get seccond hand ones popping up on the bay now and again. They are an awsome peice of kit, and for self recovery (that isnt going to get used much) i would much rather invest in a tifor because

They are less likely to attract unwanted visitors
No batteries to run down
No big strong winch bumper needed (just good towing points)
They are portable so can be used on many trucks and applications
Wont get affected by water when wading.
And i would rather have £300 safely locked away in my shed/garage/house than bolted to the front on my truck...

Bloody hell! My insurance is only £180 fully comp, with direct Line (and I'm not that old!)

Mines about the same £195 with sureterm i think

I use roofing felt bitumin adhisive for underseal, thin it out with a bit of spirit, slap it on (literally, its thick stuff) resists water and doesnt scrape off easily

i've used one of those hand winches many a time on my zuke when it's been stuck, even used one to pull a range rover out but that was a bit scary as i thought the cable was gonna snap!
They do the job you just need a few ropes and strops to get the length you need sometimes.

Finaly sorting out the few bits and piece's that were missing when I got me zuk, just need to sort out a decent black soft top as the one i have has cuts in it and is scratched due to offroading, atleast it doesnt leak lol

Can anyone tell me the code for the paint for my zuk, I need to so some touch ups and perhaps respray the whole rear door???
