It's become standard practice to unplug it when faulty. I can't understand why the lights didn't work properly once you unplugged it :er: .
Going by the diagram it should be fine to run without it and I've never heard of any damage caused by running without it :thumbup:

Cool, i just wanted to make sure! I'd rather buy a £30 part then having to do buy a much more expensive bit as it's been fried by not plugging the relay in!

It's perfectly safe not to run the dim dip unit. It was to meet legislation back the the days the Sj was built it shouldn't effect the electrics or cause anything to fry without it hooked up.

Your lights should work with it disconnected though :er:

To be fair, its wasnt even to meet our regulations in the UK! It was for stupid spanish regulations
