Put the finishing touches on the centre console today, just need to wire up the AUX Fuse box and wire everything up but the base is all there



from the top right, CB Speaker, then 4 red tipped switches are for the spots (2 for front spots, 1 for rear spots and one for cab lights) the two flip switches are coil and fuel pump, the two switched underneath are for electric fan and EPAS, then there is the CB in place of the ashtray, two USB charging points in the ciggy lighter socket, and last but not least, the parrot radio

also have these all ready to fit as well (damm bolts)



might do some wiring the evenings this weeks and try and find some calliper bolts that fit as well

Well this morning i did something good

we take a pair of these



an SJ that looks like this



that has all of 2" of clearence



no pictures of the removal process, hardly picture worthy stuff, i do however have a picture of old against new



different already even without load

attached new springs put it back on its wheels and measured



nearly 2.5" of extra clearence, so will be leaving the shackles on, however that might not be a bad thing, on full droop the shorter shackle would be very close to being pulled back on its self as the arc on the new springs is so great, besides shackles on the back, whats the worst that can happen?

Found the bump stops i need, Frontera Rear Bumpstops, look long and progressive, and about the right size too.



all level again as it should be, and although all i have done is jumpup and down on the back a few times, seems quite supple.

on a bad note, i need to source another LWB Vitara brake calipper carrier, turns out my bolt dilema was justified by one of he threads being knackered, hence why I could all of a supped wind in the bolts as i must have used the other calliper.

anyway thats it for today, to wet and horrid out there

cost less than a 2nd hand set of lifted springs would cost, with the same results, will have to see how they flex/last but for now, they will do.

Not bad what have u done for the front foes it have 2 inch shackles

God no, shackles up front, would rather drive a Land Rover

I have a shackle reversal up front, transforms the on road manors completely and backup up by some Iron man 2.0" heavy duty leafs.

That is the only reason there are shackles on the rear to balance the 2" of reversal lift, and as long as i extend the rear bump stops, shackles on the rear are not a terrible thing

When it comes to suzuki's I am a bit of a (for want of a word) Purist in that I like to keep them simple, with a lightweight petrol engine and the minimum of lift and if possible under 1 ton in weight.

Today, i needed to tackle the back end in prep from an Andy B style disc conversion using Andyrew bits.

After spending £40 on a decent slide hammer (ok it wasnt that decent) to pull the rear shafts.

Undid the 4 retaining bolts, and thought i would just give it a tug by hand, POP out it came, unded the other side, POP out it came.

turns out both rear bearings were shot, so have ordered some new ones

anyway cut the calliper brackets, drilled the holes, all ready for the new shafts and bearings

Should drive like a new machine when its done (4 new shocks, new discs and pads with refurbed calipers, new brake lines, with braded hoses, and new rear springs)

might have it on the road again in april
