Well I have a jap Sami cluster too (rev counter type) complete it was from a non runner but should be fine. Surround and glass etc. Think I may have a pair of visors too :lol:

£5 for the cluster £5 for the visors if I've got them. As its you :doublethumbs:

:doublethumbs: sorted, ill try and dig them out saturday, when im up the workshop.

i have a window mech from a spanish sami, the bit thats on the glass has rusted. but you may be able to use it to fix yours. ill chuck that in free with the other stuff :thumbup:

Todays update is called 'A lot of work for almost nothing'

the base point of todays task was to drill 2 holes that meant i have to make some temporary large axle stands using 7j wellers

so that I could undo a couple of bolts and do this

forgot how easy it is to remove an axle on an SJ

and then did this

I also cut off the shock mounts as they are in the wrong place.

put it back together with some new bits (not fully installed yet though as i need bolts to hold he carriers on, the vit ones are different from the Asain ones you know)

vented vit brakes up front, Llama 4x4 hoses 50% longer than standard, bright red shiney calipers, why you may ask? simple, because I can :lol:

and the end result

may not look like much, but as i have shackle reversal, it means the wheel get pushed closer to the footwell rather than further away like a standard spring and with so much space up front with the bumper gone

also had a result woth the wheels i bought (the chrome ones in the last picture)

was told on the add they were 10j bought them anyway as i didn't believe them, (they were cheap) and today found a stamp on the rim

so a bit of a result there, will scuff them up and spray black at somepoint once fitted with the new tyres

so now i need more bits, prop spacer for the front bolts for the brakes, some brake pads (forgot to order them) still got the dash to finish, and i now have all the copper for the new brake lines, going to replace everything from master to caliper

not sure what i will do if anything tomorrow but there you go, thanks for looking

Nice! I should really get round to upgrading my front brakes!

Love the new wheels :rockin: (I wonder why ;) ) I've been thinking about stepping down to 8" wide instead of the 10s.

Where's your bumpstops :poke:

the previous owners modifier chose not to installl bump stops, and this was on a spring over conversion too so even more important than they were before (front and rear)

I am going to retrofit some larger ones to account for the 2" shackle reversal lift and might have to delve into that parts bin with a green oval on :argh: I also need to get something else fitted that is not present, supprised no one picked up on it :lol: :lol: :lol:

and Mr Edwards, Thanks, it is nowhere near as good as yours, but at least now I have something to aspire too as yours will be the best KJA in the uk when it is done (probably, should imagine it will be anyway)

:lol: it's only bumpstops bland rover ones will do, I always set mine at the poi t where the spring goes flat if they are lift springs.

Oh yeah the shocks not there :lol: I saw some of they in a box though ;)

yeah taht is how I like them to be as well, a leaf should never be bent beyond flat really, unles you like the springs to only last 1 year and end up like the logo on a late samurai (s shaped for those who have not seen a late samurai logo lol)

those shocks in the box are for the rear, I have a set of pro comp 3000's for the front somewhere but could not use them as the shock mount welded onto the axle tube meant they were fully compressed at rest, now though have loads of traver

Todays update is titled

' its to ruddy cold outside so will stay in doors '

so i locked my self away in my man room with my Gecko Sheldon for company (he actually slept through the entire day)

worked on the centre console, needed to make a switch pannel, install a charging point for devices and mount my CB Speaker

you can just about see where the ciggy lighty is 2 usb ports, (not finished yet) lots of room up top for more switched or what ever flaots my boat, and an External CB Speaker where the clock should be

still need to finish it off a bit, and get a heater pannel bit cover thing, then i wire everything up and extend as the switches before were on the other side of the steering wheel gives me a chance to do it properly this time as well, with a common live fused feed for all the stereo cb charger lights fan ect ect so will spend a bit of time and do it right

until next weekend
