bannana shape shackles?

hi guys ive just purchased some bedford springs :)
i have read you need to make some new shackles bannana shape for the rear?
have anyone got a diagram i can copy off?i have lots of offcuts of steal i can use
im gona use the rears up front but keep the front top leaf coz im lazy lol
also bought polybushes and etended shocks
just hope the weather nice tomoz to fit it all :)

Just cut off the shackle stops and run straight shackles.

I don't think rascal springs are much longer than standard rears so there should be no reason to need banana shackles?

Using the original top front leaf won't give you all the benifets of ruf as you'll still have short springs, in fact it could make your shackle angles worse stiffening the ride. It is worth the extra effort of doing it properly with the full rear spring pack.

what a pain in the backside getting the old springs off...ended up cutting the bolt oposit side of shackle as it was seized in the bush spent hours trying to get them out without cutting them :(,
got to pick up new ones tommorrow,

and the rear springs ther was hardly any diffrence at all got me thinking its been done before :(
aint dropd it dwn yet to check
gonna do it proper then scottie and weld the shackl forward on the fronts.

Rascal springs went strait on mine with standard shackles. Only problem I had was on my rascal springs one end the eye was bigger than the standard rears but I just cut some pipe and hammered it in tight so I could use the prolly bushes I'd brought. Wouldn't matter if you got the bushes with the rascal springs tho.

i used polybushes bought from parasource..
they fit ok was a little loose say a mm,but once tightend they wer fine...well i hope lol
still aint done the fronts yet
works busy,,weathers rubbish,,and it gets dark to early :(

thinking il make some flex shackles up for the front looks real simple..does anyone rate them??

right i ended up cutting off and welding the shackle bracket a 1"1/2 forward only had time to do one side today
its made a massive diffrence around 2"1/2
not so sure i like the approach angle thou :s
