half shaft oil seal size

Post by theboy » Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:29 pm

Im trying to make a shopping list of all the parts i need in advance of changing my half shaft seals, knuckle seals/ kingpin bearings.

Ive not brought seals or bearings before so do i just need to quote the size of the half shaft oil seal i want to the bearing supplier (26x38x8mm) and i'll get the right thing?!

For the kingpin bearings I will get the info from the other thread - http://forum.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/vi ... 12/t,2801/

Do the inner race & outer collar just slide together or are they pressed into each other? (im new to this!)

thanks

Tom

Oil seal is just a 26x38x8 r23 (double lip). A 26x38x7 r23 will do just fine and is often cheaper. Yes any bearing dealer should have these just from that number as it's just to fit a 26mm shaft/ 38mm outer diameter/8mm wide.
The bearing consists of two parts.

Ive been quoted for the kingpin bearings as part number 30302 as apposed to the one I was advised off this forum as 30302JR.

Is this the same bearing as long as the outer race coller is steel? Im told the JR 'might' be the cage material ie. plastic or metal

cheers

As far as I'm aware the J denotes that it has a steel cage
