Mk2 golf headlights fit with some slight modification. You have to redrill the screw holes and do a small bit of cutting. I'll try and find a picture.
86 SJ413 tin top, 1.6 8v, SU carb, YJ spring conversion, virtual lift, 33x12.5x15 KL71's, rocklobster, rear discs, power steering.

Not bad £20 including sidelights for a pair, including bulbs.
I'd get the bowls to suit as well, then a straight forward fit.
I don't know if they are better than standard as it didn't have any when I bought it.
They fit alright.
