fitting a brake servo to a sj410?

Trust me Ed SJ servos are nothing like the ones in more modern cars. my dads sj is on stock tyres and it brakes nicely. I do know what you mean about a lot of newer vehicles having brakes that you blow on and go through the windscreen, my girlfriends colt is like it, as were the mk4 and mk5 golfs i was working on the other week. My mk2 golf gti and sjs however still have a firm pedal with the servo just not as firm as the non servo'd sjs.

I hadn't thought of that, SJ servos are 20 years old. I'd have to try a 410 Santana or something.

so would you say the servo is a good idea then? if its worth it I will do it...

Well it's not essential, I drove my 410 around for years on 31s then a year on 33s without one and was never bothered about it. I had a servo and master cylinder off a vitara lying around so just decided to do it while the sj was apart. it's not a huge amount of work to fit one though.

right, well would you say its made a difference doing it? if its worth doing and does mkake braking easier then ill do it, but if theres not much difference then ill leave it...
