Hi All
Just a courtesy intro,(& a request for advice) I have owned a few 4x4’s over the years and currently still have 4.
2 Suzukis a Mitsubishi, and an Imported Quad.
I live down is S.Wales near Swansea City (I’m not into football lol)
I Decided a while back to put my 1995 Samurai back on the road, after not using it for a good few years, But as you can guess it needed a good bit of work after being standing for a while.
I thought as I was going to do it- I’d do it from the ground up. Body off restoration.
Disconnected all cables wires pipes etc (Hence me needing some help/assistance now). Lifted the body off the Chassis. -
The chassis was in what can only be described as extremely good condition. New Springs were fitted a few weeks before I took it off the road a few years ago.
As far as I can remember I only took it off the road to do the back brakes and to be honest ,bought everything ready, then couldn’t be arsed and left it until a few months ago.
All new brakes fitted to back end- new cylinders , new shoes, new cables, new springs and front pads. As you can imagine the fittings were stubborn, and most of the snapped when undoing. All new brake lines to calipers from the biasing valve .
(I used a company called brakes international ( http://www.brakesint.co.uk) for all the brake component’s (Besides the piping) They carry a very large range for all vehicles, I used them to replace all the brakes on my other vehicles prices are good, and hassle free service
Front end brakes were ok, just needed a strip down and clean and rebuild (I already had a service kit for the calipers so fitted them on doing so.
Shockers were new a few weeks before I took it off the road they were pro comp ES3000’s fitted the same time as I fitted new springs.
New rubbers / bushes etc all round.
Chassis all solid and ready for body.
Different story !! Floor rotten, Arches rotten ! rest of it ok, solid allround to be fair.
New floor welded in, all old chassis locating studs cut off and new very heavy duty 14mm Threaded bar welded to rectangular plates- then welded to the underside of the floor. For the whole body to simply slide back into the 10 fixing holes on the chassis .
Old arches removed and patched up where need be.
Sills ? what ? sills they were non existent. Used 4”x4” box section as new sills- cut away old ones to make room for new ones and welded both in place .
Fabricated so they fit perfect up to the front and rear arches, curved them to sit in perfect.
Old floor from inside cut away (Where needed) and fiber glassed all inside floor from back all way through to lower half of the engine bay bulked head. Then gel coated and flow coted all inside.
New rectangular arches bent and welded into shape approx. 7 inch from main body (To allow for my big tyres)
Body now solid and ready to go back on chassis. (This is where I need help now lol)
Body back on and cables and pipes to engine bay back on .
Because my Samurai is the last of them it’s the fuel injection model with ecu etc.
There a load of cables and pipes etc. I have no idea where they go, I’m looking for someone who also has a 95 Samurai with same set up so I can talk to and sort mine out.

I will put out another post asking if anyone has the same model of Samurai, or if they have had/have a good knowledge of them.

I will put a few pics on of my progress in the next few days, and over the next few weeks.
