Picked this up in amongst some 410 parts.

Looks more like an LJ one to me?

Think they were also fitted to the really early 410s as well

definitely fitted to metal dash board types, but my 85 plastic dash has one. it is a pretty cool piece, and would they be considered rare?

My SJ has a steering wheel like that. I'm pretty sure it was for the earlier metal dashboard SJs. Mine is an '84. I think the way it works is '81, '82 had metal dash and front drum brakes, '83 and '84 had metal dash and front discs. '85 onward had the newer style dash.

That's not to say it isn't an LJ steering wheel. It definately was fitted to LJs as factory standard too. I've seen a video about the history and development of the SJ, all the way from the Willys to the 660-TURBO Kei car and the 1.3SPi

There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I had a '83 410 with discs (but not the metal dash), and it had the same steeringwheel also.
