Do you only get this hissing when the engine is running and brakes applied ?
If this hissing noise is not there when you try the brakes with the engine off I would suspect the servo/brake booster may well be leaking.

Had a search on "google" and found this file. A lot of info on brake boosters with some useful check procedures.

Yes the hissing noise only happens with the engine running, I have found some second hand rear brake auto adjusters, and a servo. I have been assured they are all in perfect working order so will fit them when they arrive and let you all know. may be help to someone else in future who has same problem. Thanks for all your advice and help... :salute:
