hi again all,
bought some speakers as above, any ideas where to fit them in the sj? dont wanna make too much of a mess inn there so any ideas appreciated, photos even better :lol:

Try the rear door. There is a fair amount of space there, and it is totally wasted. I had a set mounted there in one of my earlier SJs.

I would build a box for them to sit on top of the wheel arches if you like deep water like I do! :mrgreen: otherwise you'll find your new speakers under water and a bit screwed!

Is any SJ, hard or soft top secure enough to put expensive stereo kit in and expect it to stay in?

Just a thought to save you tears when scum take it from you and leave you with a wet cold seat covered in glass.

I hope I haven't spoken to soon for you!!!

Covering it all up and turning the music down before you arrive anywhere that you might leave it would hopefully stop unwanted attention.

I don't think people would expect an SJ to have a good stereo in it anyway.

I'm amazed that CD players can play in an SJ without skipping. I'll show I'm getting on a bit now by saying I remember when they skipped in cars all the time, especially in my old lowered cars going over pot holes. Now a the cheapy venturer crappy CD player in our 410 doesn't even skip!!!

No need for cd's anymore......got a tape player...ipod and itrip.......the itrip sends out a radio signal which you pick up on ur player...no worries bout hidin cd's or worryin bout ur cd player! :lol: :lol:

my cd player seems to skip less offroad than it does on road! :lol: its even been underwater once and somehow still works????? :shock:
