6 x 9's
Re: 6 x 9's
Try the rear door. There is a fair amount of space there, and it is totally wasted. I had a set mounted there in one of my earlier SJs.

i recovered all the bits to make them look better, all you really need is some cheap wood to get you started

I would build a box for them to sit on top of the wheel arches if you like deep water like I do! otherwise you'll find your new speakers under water and a bit screwed!

Is any SJ, hard or soft top secure enough to put expensive stereo kit in and expect it to stay in?
Just a thought to save you tears when scum take it from you and leave you with a wet cold seat covered in glass.

I hope I haven't spoken to soon for you!!!
Covering it all up and turning the music down before you arrive anywhere that you might leave it would hopefully stop unwanted attention.
I don't think people would expect an SJ to have a good stereo in it anyway.
I'm amazed that CD players can play in an SJ without skipping. I'll show I'm getting on a bit now by saying I remember when they skipped in cars all the time, especially in my old lowered cars going over pot holes. Now a the cheapy venturer crappy CD player in our 410 doesn't even skip!!!
Have fun.
