I bought a sj samurai in october and yet to use is as i got it as a non runner project,
Its nearly all finished now and its running but ive got a bad oil leak its constantly dripping off the bottom of the gear box but its run down from behind the head some where, ive change the valve cover gasket but its still leakin as bad where else could it be coming from,

Distributor o-ring, fuel pump breather if the internal seal has failed. Best to get engine cleaner (gunk) or similar and get it all clean, then check for the leak source.

its bad its all over top of bell housing and down the back of the engine,
ill get it cleaned off and see where abouts its coming out of but its hard to see around the back

That's not too bad I've had mine like that before.
Just make sure you've got oil in the engine.

As said above it will either be the o ring or the fuel pump. Both dead easy to fix!

Yer it leaks that much i could do with settin a drip up with oil in to keep constantly toppin it up haha,
Ill have a look tomorrow mornin,
Once its all done ill get some pics up :)

Haha! Mine's got an oil leak down the back of the engine too, though the level in the sump never seems to go down :er: I just figured I'd leave it until it got so bad I was losing oil faster than I could put it in.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
