Mine does that, when we spent some time and adjusted it, found that she just stalled when driving, decided to let slide, set it back again, runs fine so long as i dont push choke all the way in. my freinds run 413's one has a nikki carb the other a webber, and we all suffer with idling problems if we fix the idle then they dont drive right. so we just leave it with a slightly higher tickover. dunno if its a common fault or we just arent as good as we think. dodgy things chokes are, my dad n grandad would always try to find an auto choke to replace the manual on any car they owned. dunno about technical terms but we took my rocker cover off and adjusted the slidey things inside so they wernt as loose, that helped the idle and rattling sound.
still cuts out though. hope thats a help but if its not, someone will put me right and tell you something usefull. haha.

Welcome...!

defo sounds like a common fault...my 410 does the same...but with a added extra...the choke doesn't stay out...so i invested in a clothes peg... a simple but affective bodge!

Thanks guys got idle sorted there a few days ago. All i did was replace distributor cap and adjust its angle by 2 or 3 Degrees and that sorted it! no more choke it doesn't even need it starting just pump accelerator pedal few times and vrooom!
