Spring over axle shocks

Post by ianedwards » Sun Dec 04, 2011 11:01 pm

Hi , ive got a Suzuki sj 413 KJA with spring over axle conversion, when It's got standard shocks on it at the moment but they are all knackered and need replacing. They seem to fit ok as standard length. Has any one got any advice on shocks for this setup. Cheers

Cheers Ian

How are your shocks set up? Have they just flipped the U-bolt plates and used the mounts on those or made some new lower shock mounts on the axle?

Imo its best to make some newer lower shock mounts so that you can run longer shocks and get a bit more flex.

I know this is a coil set up but its a good position to mount the lower shock mounts IMO maybe a bit higher would be ideal though so that there don't hang below the axle case.

on the back of mine, he held ed some new shock mounts onto the axle casing gave a bit more room for the shock

I am in the same situation at the moment and will probably end up with the rough country stuff from dave

It looks like they have flipped the mounts and welded some new mounts to that. I will take a pic to confirm.
