Hello all, hope things are good ..my latest '82 SJ gets a wobbly frond end when going over a bump..seems to be on the left, but is really inconsistent (not every time) in a 5km drive today it did it 4-5 times..doesn't do it on the flat and most of the time I consider the steering to be fairly sweet under normal conditions! makes the steering wheel wobble too, which is proper disconcerting!!
Any ideas greatly appreciated..
Andy

Re: Wobbles like a MotherHubbard!
I would look at kingpin bearings and your tie rod ends.... they seem to be the cause of death wobble when mine occasionally gets it!!!

Re: Wobbles like a MotherHubbard!
Also check
Tyre Pressures
Wheel bearings are not loose
U-bolts are not loose
Laef spring bushes are in good condition
Shackles are not too loose
There is no play in the steering box
Also check the UJ and rag joint on the steering column.
If all of these seem ok then you need to get your front wheels/tyres checked to see if they are balanced correctly.
Basically everything that is on your front suspension, axle and steering.
