Right On the 7th of april I went into have some x rays on my leg to make sure everything is alright (6weeks since the frame came off)
Here are the xrays
from the front...
From the side
and thats it done, My surgeon said its as strong as it will ever be now and he is happy for me to take up contact sports if I want!
Also They put me onto a scar management team, where they try to reduce the scaring and swelling, they made me a special 'compression' stocking which is really sexy and looks like something my gran might wear! I have to wear it allday everyday to get the most benefit out of it - So I doubt I will be wearing shorts this summer
here is my stocking
And my leg after wearing it for a few days
I'm still not back at work but should be soon, I'm still walking with a Limp I've sort of resigned myself to the fact I will have to limp all my life, I managed to walk to my brother-in-laws the otherday, about a 3mile round trip, which Is certainly I step in the right dierection. I have trouble lifting my big toe it gets to neuteral postion and won't go up any further they said i will have to wear stiff soled shoes to help me but it makes it a hassle getting trainers on when you usually wriggle your toes, this is also the bit the makes me limp as I can't lift my foot up far enough I have to take a big step so my toes clear the floor, like I said it's not that bad and I have just sort of resigned myself to it - I mean I have my leg and its not painful so what more could I ask?
In the future I hope to be able to sprint for short periods, I'm working on my achillies tendon at the gym but I'm yet to see if it will happen
