hiya from bude

Post by samsport » Fri Jan 21, 2011 3:35 pm

I have had my samurai for about a year now and it went straight through its last mot with no problems what so ever so was wel chuffed i use it on the road and its reasonably economical but really uncomfortable and as my wife has a bone disease i am looking into my first bit of work which are seats that are not made of concrete and wires but no decisions have been made yet.i love the anus.the rust is just starting to get hold so the carpets have ben back and bumpers are off.oh and i cant find a fuel filler neck as mine is in a bad way so wil be covering it in petrol proof gasket sealant and tape for the time being and keeping my fingers crossed.
anyways hi

:welcome: to scuk.

Yep sjs can be a bumpy ride, you can improve it though, the easiest things to do are to get some good seats, nice shocks and do either a rear springs up front(ruf) and Bedford rascal springs on the rear conversion or fit yj springs (yjs are a bit more complicated and hard to find though) the problem is sj springs are too short so by doing ruf and rascal springs you end up with longer springs front and rear. Then you can also remove a leaf or so from each pack to soften it up even more.

You don't want lift springs as they will be a lot harder.

I'm fitting yjs to mine at the moment.
