I have the same problem, was perfect last week, went to use it yesturday then had problems. accelerate heavy or light and car deaccelerates!? deffinatly fueling side, not ignition. carb is brand new and only done around 500miles hassle free. fuel is getting to carb by the plenty, dash pot oil filled and correct needle. hummm.....
any suggestions?

Do you know what piston spring is in your SU? Most people find that a yellow one works best on the 1600 ( the tips should be coloured) if its got the wrong spring the piston rises at the wrong speed and give the wrong air:fuel ratio.

I had all sorts of annoying problems before I put the yellow spring in... 25-75% throttle was a flat spot
