Post by border » Sat Nov 28, 2020 11:04 pm

SJ 410 1988.Ordered Speedo Cable, I know I should have took the old one out first and compared them took me ages to get dials off and thread the new one through ready to connect to Transfer box, THEN found out it was to short. :x
This is the one I bought, but to short https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/metzger-1821826.html, have emailed them but probably wont get answer till next week
Is there a longer one ?

Have you checked the length against the one you removed? no chance you have just taken it the wrong way behind the dash. Tbh i've only ever bought new ones from indian Maruti suppliers, they only work for Jap Sjs though.

Could the speedo cable you have acquired be for a LHD?

Yes Mate, the one I removed is just under 3000mm and the one I bought is 2250mm so quite a big difference, It goes from dials, along to passenger side, down and along floor nearest door then through hole and along to Transfer Box, was thinking as Lundigee it might be for left hand drive, but I cant see any more the same length as what was in.

There are plenty of speedo cables on eBay that are available from India that will be for RHD for less than £20. You could check the length before ordering.
