2013 2.25l vitara

Post by suzifan » Fri Oct 09, 2020 10:47 pm

Hi Guys,

I have got a 2013 2.25l petrol vitara which has done 11,000 miles. I have a problem in that the clutch is slipping, Admittedly I have been towing a large trailer with it, but previously I had a diesel golf gti, which I also towed the same trailer with and that had done 97000 miles on the same clutch with no problems so I don't think it's my driving technique. Has anyone any suggestion as to what I should be looking at..apart from a new clutch that is?

Thanks

Sounds like the clutch isn't up to the job if you had no problem previously. With diesel cars having more torque the clutches are heavier duty than petrol cars probably why the golf didn't have problems. You'd be better with a diesel suzuki for towing in my opinion. I dont tow with mine but I'm always carrying 110l drums of water and sacks of feed in my diesel Grand Vitara and never had problems.
