Judging by the post activity here (last post over a year ago) I may be waiting some time for an answer, but lets try.
I have a 2016 Baleno (swift in another coat) the usb port works fine when iphone is plugged in but if I try a usb flash drive it states "no usb connected".
The drive is formatted as the manual says to FAT32 and the drive works fine in the computer, the music tracks are in .mp3 form but still the car does not see it.
So if the port is working, the drive is formatted as required, the content has the correct file extension and the drive is working everywhere else what is the problem ?
Any suggestions much appreciated.

When you say the phone works fine, is it just charging or are you able to play music off of it?

Some USB's can be for charging only, depending on how they are wired up.
