1.6 swap

Post by Slinky410 » Mon Mar 09, 2020 6:16 pm

Hi everyone, im considering a 1.6 swap into my 410 which has a factory 5 speed.
My main question is WHY must one use a 413 gearbox?

Someone who knows will answer soon.

My guess is, it’s a completely different gearbox and bell housing and without significant messing about with flywheel, clutches, starters and bellhousings it will not fit the 1.6.

The 410 uses an f10 engine. The 413 uses a g13, the vitara is a g16. Essentially the vitara engine is almost identical, just slightly bigger.

All the parts needed can be salvaged from a g13 and bolted directly to a g16. Although some holes bellhousing to engine block don’t quite line up its a very simple fix with either an adaptor plate or some threaded bar.
