Hi all,
I just wanted to introduce myself as I'm certain there'll be a number of questions coming this way over the next few months. My dad owned a white LJ80 in the early 80s when we lived in the Middle east. It was the first car I ever drove so I've been hunting for one for a while.
I have just found and purchased this, compete with a box of bits including all the lights and most of the missing metawork.
Mechanically it's sound and rust free underneath.

Nothing major really. It's going to be for summer use. Bikini top. Get rid of the surface rust and dodgy paint, followed by a respray. White exterior, black inside. I'm also going to get rid of the over-sized wheels and presuming I can find some original steels, drop those on.

Original wheels are hard to come by but eBay Germany and Austria seem to sell almost every LJ part. At a price! New wings are available there too.

Yes, I was on there yesterday having a look. I've stuck a wanted notice in the forum for a few bits so I'll see what happens. The only thing I REALLY need is a windscreen, unless I just leave it folded down :-)

Yes, that was my next avenue. I can't find them anywhere for less than £130. Insurance cover it is :-)
