Power steering options

Post by Gardiner » Mon Jul 10, 2017 8:16 am

Hi all what are the options for a SJ to put power steering on.
I got a SJ with a 5" Calmini full suspension lift.
Thanks in advance

As I popped in your other post, Jimny PS will fit.

The pump mount off an Vit G16 8v engine fits.

You will need to tweak the rad mount on the chassis though for the pump pulley clearance.

If you have a drop pitman arm with your calmini lift kit then it will not fit the jimny box, I don't think there's a drop pitman arm available for the jimny box.
If you aren't running a drop pitman arm then the stock jimny pitman arm will be pretty much the same steering geometry wise as the stock sj pitman.

I added electric steering, easy fab to do and reasonable cost. Here is a link to my write up.

Can I revive this thread with a question.
Have purchased a PAS system from a Jimny.
The engine mount for the PAS pump is as the attached pictures.
It does not seem to fit my G13A Santana Samurai engine. What am I getting wrong?

Was the set up and mount from a Jimny with an M series engine? You need a mount from a vitara G16 8v engine. It’s still not always a straight bolt on swap though as it can be tight for chassis clearance
