Which ones are you looking at? Do you have a link?

A good swap is mk1 golf headlights as they have the option of fitting side lights in them and they use h4 bulbs, need a few tweaks to fit but it's pretty easy.

Mine had mk2 golf headlights, they are a bit trickier to fit but still an easy swap.

I would consider some LED headlight, soooo good!
Only issue is I have to run them slightly tilted to one side to make the headlight tester happy, but no big deal

Twiss, are the lights from eBay or similar, have you got a link?

Are they really that much better?

My lights were new when I first put it on the road, but the other night they were terrible. It might be they just need a good clean, but the LED option seems a good idea. Luckily my little roof mounted LED lights showed me the way on the lanes during darkness.
