If you want big battery power without the weight, consider lithium ion. If you make your own pack out of 18650's, you can make it flat and put it under the body between the chassis rails, so any weight you *do* add is as low as possible.
1985 SJ413VX (SJ50V) with SPOA, rear disc brakes, 31x10.5R15 Kaiman Malatesta tyres, an MOT and a lot left to do!

Had a car accident in my suzuki on the road, whoops !
Was driving down a country lane, moved over to let a car pass it's like single track road. And I clipped a tree with my nearside rear wheel at about 15 mph. It stopped the car.
Back axle like banana !

I have some pics il resize them when I get time, all of my wheel stick out on the rear, so easliy done ! I cut through the axle and rewelded it straight. Il do a few xhalalnges like this then make some more axles up or swap over to Volvo 303 portal axles which is my main plan.

Went green laning the other night near selbourne and east meon, ended up doing winching hahaha
Some of the green lanes are quite fun !
I'm going on holiday for a few days but when I'm back I need to start getting it ready for be 2nd of July for a challenge event in north Devon.
