wicked build mate, sure the paint is same shade as mine. Looks like its going to be one super capale truck once finished ! you thought about changing too vitara diffs to sort the gearing?

Cheers mate. Yeah im pretty sure i used the same paint as you :mrgreen: . Henery did mention something about using vitara diffs to lower the gearing, but i dont know alot about it. Might have to do a bit of research on the matter.

Im running vitara diffs on mine (4.85 ratio), and a 410 transfer box, gearing seems spot on. there are a few gear calculators online i used this one http://www.geckocycles.com/calc/percent ... gears.html
Its fairly simple to swap the diffs over if you are happy to run the aluminim diff housings (i have without problems)
You will need a pair of front vitara diffs, both need to be the same ratio, most vitaras have 5.12 ratio.
The front diff can be bolted straight in. At the rear you will need to bolt the vitara ring onto your actual diff.

That looks quite difficult :shock: I havent quite got my head around how differentials work yet :P Also have you lost much top end speed?
