Had to cut off a wheel bolt, what next!!
Hi all, the garage had overtightened one of the wheel bolts on the front and I had to cut the stud off as it was turning with the nut, booooo!! Do I have to buy a new hub with the studs and totally take it apart or can I use a normal bolt and weld it to the back? Either way I'm going to have to take it all apart aren't I?? Is it a big job?

I can send you a new wheel stud, easy to swap, just have to pull the caliper and disc off.

That sounds better than taking everything off phew!! Thanks for that, do I need to spot weld it on so it doesn't rotate?

You shouldn't need to, they are knurled. Unless the hole in the hub has been damaged it should be fine.villagehoppa wrote:That sounds better than taking everything off phew!! Thanks for that, do I need to spot weld it on so it doesn't rotate?

I had the same issue and bought a stud on Ebay - the thread should be knocking about somewhere if you search my name plus a link to the stud on Ebay
I ground a flat edge off the round head of the stud so it fitted flush more easily and wouldn't turn. Got some advice on here and it was a fairly straightforward job.
