Hey guys so i picked my wedge up from fab shop today after only askin if he would make me 1 yesturday so spot on fitted it everything went together great tighten everything up then i noticed the steering bar was lyk 2" longer than the thing with the rubber circle that attatches to the steerbox is this supose to happen cos carnt remember reading about that the bit that comes off the box with the rubber bit on is just to the edge of the flat part of the steering box shaft do i pray it as far as i can down or what ? Cut steering bar down , any ideas , thanks

take the steering column off and gently shorten it with the aid of a hammer, it's collapsable

yeah that's the one, it might take quite a bit of force at first but once it starts moving it's fairly easy. maybe soak the joint in some penetrating oil for a bit first. take it steady as well so that you don't end up making it too short, you can knock it back out though if you do shorten it too much.

Spot on scottie will do that tomoz , its a good 2" out lyk so will measure it before i start wacking lol , what did ya do aout the steering damper is it worth making somit n putting it back on or isit fine without one , thanks

Well finally got a morning off to test the powersteering after fitting the pipes n pot n fluids on friday n must say it was well worth doing dont know why i didnt do it early but ya nar lol , no more hanging on it to turn into my garage nice and light , few questions though think i need a new steering joint the one that connects to steering box , arm knocking abit but its on a z bar could this be replaced ? , and i hame mounted my powersteering fluid bot to a bracket from the radiator and noticed it was quite hot , will this make a difference , thanks
