What brand of leaf springs to get and what to avoid?

Post by SlimGrim » Thu Sep 08, 2016 11:46 pm

Ok so my the guilt is starting to kick in, my 88 samurai sat still for 3 years in the previous owners garage until I drove all the way from Norfolk to Wales to get her & ever since then her leaf springs have always been kinda saggy, now they're at the point where i actually think they may be starting to curve downwards, well the front ones anyways and I feel bad for the old gal if I drop her into a bad rut when I feel the shocks fully compress :/ , I've been told to avoid lesjofors springs, any others to avoid? I don't want to buy lift springs just some standard height ones & maybe I'll get some Astra shocks or something to go with. So what to get? Are kilen good or shit, they seem fairly cheap so idk if that's anything to go by? Help the uneducated please

Any old spring refurbishers up round your way?

Llama used to be the best but he cant get them anymore i believe.

The maruti ones that jimny bits sells look very questionable when
Fitted to my late friends sami. He had just the rears and they bent the other way whilst it was only parked up.

I can actually get standard springs here for about €50 each... but the shipping would be stupid I think
