Finding parts

Post by meathumper » Sat Aug 06, 2016 10:50 am

I do like grand vitaras, but they are a nightmare to get parts for! I'm after a transfer box rear output shaft oil seal and can't find one anywhere. I would be greatful if anyone could help find one for a 2003 gv 2.0td rhw. Thanks.

Have you phoned your local Suzuki dealer?

As others on here know, I'm a big fan of the dealer network, buying the correct part and receiving it a few days later.
All they need is your reg number, sometimes they want the VIN to screen out time wasters!

Here's a vid you may like :D

Good luck

Try running you VIN through here.
By my searching I believe yours is Suzuki part 09283-44015 which is a 44/60/9.5 R23 (double lip oil seal).
I found generic ones on line but at 10mm or 9mm wide. I don't know if a wider one would rub on the flange but the 9mm should be fine.
However if you have a Suzuki dealer within a sensible distance they will sort you out and don't charge stupid money for seals  .

Please do check your VIN through the above as I have found another output seal, but commonly used on the petrol engine models. You have to be careful as they fitted 3 different diesels and I don't know if they shared the same transfer box. I believe the RHW is the SQ420XD.

I have a dealer who mail order spares to me using DHL very reasonably :D

(I don't have a dealer close to me, plus sometimes I'm up on jacks and unable to pick up bits).

That's good of them, most can't be assed

hi guys thanks for your input, darrell that link is great thanks. I think your right on that part number, the part is not expensive but postage is ridiculous. Should I contact Suzuki, ive got a dealer not to far away but ive used them before and they are worse that useless.

They are usually OK if you know the exact part number of what you want!
