Hello from bigtinasoup and the soup dragon

Post by Bigtinasoup » Sun Jun 12, 2016 11:41 pm

Hello all. Glad to be here. I'm new to samurais but not to suzuki or off roading. My wife has a jimny that I've chucked around a few times. I have a very special build on my drive that you will hopefully see soon. I bought a 29 year old samurai today and I'm in love! She is a red van (despritly needs new seats as the drivers seat has collapsed and I have a poorly spine now). I'm her second owner and she has 98000 on the clock. I've called her the soup dragon as her horn sounds like a clanger. I will be.doing little bits here an there when I can. I'm in the raf but was injured at work in 2014 and can no longer work so once the super secret build is done, soup dragon will get more love.

Glad to be here and look forward to some giggles.

(showed up the land-rover owners club in my wife's stock jimny last week, thought you guys would like that!!)

Don't think I've ever seen a stock color red 'Samurai' van, is it a conversion? and is it 1.0L or 1.3L motor?

If it's like mine and actually an SJ410, they're getting rarer by the day, only 25 left now on the road in UK!

Good news is, parts are cheap and plentiful

She is a 1.3 and an original van I believe. we are going to collect some parts from a skyline on Monday and I'm contemplating taking out the engine and box from an jimny they have, converting it to bike carbs and dropping the whole lot in the soup dragon. The super secret build will have plenty of pictures up once she is done!!

Had a play and swapped out a fuel filter, she is a new beast. Love her even more!!! Mite buy the jimny stuff if it cheap enough. Also, the gear box is like turning soup!
