and why can't i see an indoor crawler course set up for the losi
No It doesn't really hurt when I adjust them but it does make it ache, I'm not usually up this early.... (8.02am on sunday) but my leg was aching this morning and I just couldn't get it comfy in bed! oh well more time for suzuki club!

As for the Losi crawler I havn't done anything with it, I'm wanting to paint the bodyshell but I've not been brave enough yet, I'm Afraid I'll mask it wrong and mess the paint/ shell up, and I've not got around to buying thee wheels yet! I need to get on with it really so you can have the spare stickers! I will make a conscious effort to sort it out,

bet it do tickle a bit scottie :P ........ tramp you'll end up with a higher pain threashhold than mike tyson!! :P
Ha ha I don't know about that, I'm not a fan of pain but in all honesty you don't have much choice about it! the only choice is do you want your leg to go back to normal or not? And I wasn't wanting to wear a build up shoe for the rest of my life! To be honest the leg growing is almost finished now I'd like to think im over half way there, yesterday I turned the nuts to 36mm, although the surgeon said the first cm just takes the slack out fo the frame its still 26mm and about half way, It's nice to see my leg more leg shaped!

I Suppose I will, I don't know if I will have a perminant limp yet or not, but they way I see it is a limp is better than a false leg!

When I first had my frame on it took me maybe 3-4 months to become fully weight bearing, I imagine it will be the same again when Ive stopped stretching, At the moment I'm just flying around on crutches with my bad leg not touching the floor, The crutches aren't to bad really and they let me get all the places I could get normally, well except climbing bankings and ground thats really uneven! the only problem with the crutches is its hard to carry anything, It makes it a right task getting a cup of tea from the kitchen to the lounge!

Any way so Really this long winded answer is yes I will

Right then, Update time!

Last time I posted a photo I had stretched by 2.4cm, Ill do some re-cap pics to show how it has grown, But now I have finished stretching, In all I adjusted my frame 65mm to give my leg the 55mm back I lost (the first 10mm was taking slack out of the frame), My foot is still in the frame but I have an appointment on the 16th to hopefully have it removed, I'm still walking with x2 crutches at the moment but I'm sure it will be easier to walk once I've had the wires removed from my foot,

this was my leg before my operation, it was 5.5cm shorter than my other leg,
Image

this was when they broke my leg to start stretching it, (in june)
Image

this was in july when I had started to stretch by 2.4cm
Image

and then this is in august I had stretched it 4.7cm
Image

And finally this is the day I did my last stretch
Image

so thats it really, I've had the frame on for around 9months now, so i should be about half way through my frame time, the consultant said it would take 2months of healing for every cm stretched so it should be another 10months before im frameless, but in fairness it will all be down hill now, Also I've been into work and they may be able to find me a position where I'm on my bum most of the day but i need to be able to walk down stairs without crutches first,

cheers
Luke

As far as news goes thats great news. Glad to hear your healing, as slow and long as the process sounds.

Is that tash based on a series of 1970s adult films? It just looks a but suspicious in the photos.

Ha ha, When I had my first op back in december I got a blood clot, they put me on blood thinning medication and told me wasn't allowed to wet shave as If I cut myself I may bleed alot! So for 6months or so I didn't shave, I got a rather fetching beard and Mustach. I got fed up of the beard, the hairs on my chin seem to grow curly and have a resembelence to those on my bollocks and I was starting to look like a suicide bomber.... but when I shaved the beard I couldn't bring myself to shave the tash, its far to fetching I feel like magnum PI with it! that, and the hardest part of growing a mustach is the part where it looks like bum hair I'd gone past that and I wouldn't want to do that again.

Another update, They are coming thick and fast at the moment!

Today I went to see my consultant, he said I was doing great and my bone was healing (see the x ray) and that my foot frame could come off, I was chuffed to bits that the foot frame could come off as i can only decribe it as a torture device, the pinsites on my feet were always sore and now i'm looking forward to getting back on my own two feet,

here is my feet without the frame
Image

and my frame, they asked me if i wanted to keep it, I couldn't turn it down
Image

and here are the wires from my foot, the olive wires hurt the most when they came out, the one ordinary wire was strange it slide side to side in my foot and It didn't hurt at all
Image

and my leg now, They said I have to wear the bandage for a few days
Image

and finally my x-ray sorry its so small but you can see the gap between the bone and the faint line is the new bone growing if you zoom in you can see the grain of the new bone,
Image

I hope you are all still finding this thread interesting, Even though it is getting abit long in the tooth

Luke what can we say it's been one of the best build threads on here, lots of good tech on lengthening legs

I bet you're going to love being able to use two feet again after all this time!

Just think soon you can be back out in the SJ  or under it
