Sounds like a plan, it would be great to make it to an event and meet all the faces from this forum, not having a road worthy truck has put me off until now, but I'll have no excuse now!

More patching,

In the passenger side inner sill,

Image

Passenger side rear wheel arch

Image

& the patch should I put a drain hole in here? Or is it ok?

Image

And I painted the inside of the sill, chucked some filler on the flare behind the rear wheel and found another hole......

Image

Behind the passenger seat, that's the chassis I can see under there, is this something I can repair with the body in situ on the chassis or will I need to separate them?

So carrying on from last time,

Image

Heres the inside of the sill, painted and ready for the new box section,

So today box section prepared and capped

Image

Then the outer edge welded in

Image

I've still got the inside to weld but it's on!

Then whilst I was under I was looking at that big rust hole,

Image

Any idea how to tackle it?

So another day,

Image

Image

The sill fully welded in, the rear wheel arch (passenger side) completely patched up - it doesn't look much but it took me most of the day,

So what's left?

Flat the filler on the rear passenger 'rot' trap and paint,
I have to refit the bumper/tow bar
Buy and make some brackets to hang my sill plastics on (and paint)
Address the hole in the floor behind the seats
Remove the rear half shaft, paint the drum backing plate, and change the bearing
Fit new copper brake lines cylinder and components

Drive,

Not much left now!

Nice work Tramp, the box takes me back to when I did mine and will probably out live the truck
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

Yeah I seriously can't wait to be blasting about in it again! Looking back at this thread makes me realise I've spent nearly a year on it now, Good progress considering it took 5/6 years to work myself up to starting it!

Anyway I had a little time on it today

Image

I just need to blast and paint the bits, I did find an issue though

The threads in this nut are shagged, anyone know the thread size so I can get a replacement? Also the studs on the half shaft. The threads are acceptable at a push but it would be nice to replace them, has anyone had the studs out before? And where can I get replacements?

Thanks
