F10D - assuming it fits, where would you get one? Suzuki Alto?

Tim, Master of all things Bedford has confirmed:
'I once put an engine from a rascal in a suzuki sj410 but there were lots of things that were different. Because the rascal engine is fitted at a slant, most things are different, eng mounts, manifolds, oil pick-up pipe, sump etc.The distributor is also fitted in a different way and i think it rotates a different way'

So basically, you CAN put another engine in, either a newer F10A or whatever else takes your fancy BUT it won't fit without modding or changing various things.

My engine is off for a recondition then.....

Tbh it's only basic bits that have to be swapped, it's not a big job at all. I've known a lot of SJ410s with engines out of rascals fitted.

Probably best to recondition yours though, most f10a engines are arpund 20-30 years old now so finding a low mileage and his condition one won't be that easy.
