hi all I wired all my switches n stuff up today n had a slight problem I was testing all my switches out n had my fans running everything ok n went to flip my toggle for my horn n ended up in a puff of smoke lol my live wire from battery burnt out all the way 2 switch n the sj wasn't running at the time , any ideas , thanks

I'm no expert but sounds like you have Got a short on that circuit some where, double check, no fuse?

You running the horn through a relay?

Well i replaced the wire n put a inline fuse in , it turned out i had put one of the wires on back of switch in the wrong place , so all workin , i have not used a relay lyk do i need to put one in , thanks

personally i would, even tho its just a horn, i know its a bit more work but its safer. even more so on, spot lights/fans etc.

The original wiring doesn't use one and the standard switch seems to last the test of time so doubt the current draw is too much on the standard horn.

If its done now and working I would just stick with it. In the unlikely event you burn a switch out grab a new one for a few quid of eBay and start again with a relay.
