Re: headlight module
thanks darrell but mines off a 92 vitara jlx, the module is metal with fins topside to dissipate the heat, inside is a pcb (am descibing cos am too rubbish to learn how to post a pic!)
i guess the one in your photo is the latest version which am sure would do, so if anyone out there has one spare in working order then i would be glad to purchase the same k

Re: headlight module
We all just bypass the box on SJs, there's no legal requirement for dim dip so as long as the headlights work as normal, side lights, dip and full beam you will have no issues for the MOT.
Re: headlight module
and i like that reply!!! one of the headlights wasnt working and we traced it to this box, will try without and see what happens, many thanks k

Re: headlight module
Looking at the wiring (if correct for yours) for the dip dim unit it looks unlikely to make either side fail.

Re: headlight module
thanks darrell, am pursuing the bypass option and have forwarded your wiring diagram to my auto electrician
my preferred option is still a replacement part and after contacting suzuki i find that the part is no longer available and if it were would cost £178!!!! so my last hope is that someone out there may have a spare that they wish to sell, hopefully with a decimal point involved! the part number is 3866080F00

Re: headlight module
I've just been through the diagram and like Scottie says it's like the SJ one.
This can normally just be unplugged and left alone.
The common fault is when the dip-dim unit fails the lights won't turn off.
I still don't think this is why you have a headlight out.
When checking for voltage on this circuit, unplug both headlights as the positive current will go through the bulb elements and give you 12v positive on most of the circuit.
I've just scrubbed the dip-dim from the diagram to clarify things
