suzuki 413 alternator

Post by basil » Sat Feb 14, 2015 5:07 pm

I have removed the unit from the anus ..brushes look worn.....putting a meter between the 2 side contacts with brushes replaced again
on ohms setting there is no reading between the these 2 contacts at all should there be a reading ?????
also a meter across the 2 commutator copper bands on the shaft there again is not a reading...
so perhaps it a goner after all
jim

I hope you didn't do any permanent damage removing the alternator from your anus... Otherwise you should really go and see a doctor
