modified leaf spring shackles for comfort

Post by Suzukijim » Fri Feb 13, 2015 6:16 pm

There is a leaf spring shackle set that you can get that's meant to make the ride more comfortable and better movement off road as well as on road I guess they have some sort of special bush in them. My question is has anyone used these and what everyone's opinions are of them or is it just sales rubbish and really not worth the £60 - £100

I think I know what you're talking of, but could you post a link? It's difficult to comment on something when you're guessing about the product you're supposed to be commenting on...

There is no way I can see a shackle improving ride comfort....sounds like a sales gimmick.

The only way you can improve the ride with shackles is by changing the angle of them...either by moving the actual mounts or fitting longer springs.

Are these shackles any good? in one word.....

No

You'd be better buying some softer springs,

I had a feeling those were the the things you were on about. Those things have been discussed before, and basically not one positive thing was said about them.

If anything they will make your suspension firmer as they are longer than standard and will increase the shackle angle, thus increasing the spring rate.

Have you seen the "double shackles" they sell for Navara's :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: what a stupid bunch of idiots if they think those will make any difference to how the suspension works apart from possibly making it more dangerous during hard cornering, just goes to show the crap you can get from China if you havent got a a clue.
