MORE PICTURES ADDED of laning in the Lake District
Well I've never been here for one reason or another. If you recall the last time I set off for here my front wheel bearing failed, and I lost the whole front corner!

Well today we set off on a route we had obtained from a mate, and what a corker it was.
I've seen a few of these lanes on videos or pictures and always fancied trying them.
There was just three of us out. I was in my Samurai, Craven in his Nissan, very capable truck, and Kevin in his daily drive GV, on not the most off road of tyres. 10 out of 10 to him though, he did get just about everywhere the other trucks did, if it took a few attempts.
A bit of a long day, as it was about 110 miles each way to the route, and mostly on the motorway. would I do it again?
TOO RIGHT!!

Re: Pictures of laning in the Lake District
It was a great day, great route, great weather and great scenery.
I don't know any of the names of the lanes, yet, but we started at Lakeside in Windermere, then drove around via Colton, Oxen Park, Blawith, High Nibthwaite, Lowick Bridge, Satterthwaite, Grizdale, Hawkshead, Outgate, Barngates, Oxen Fell and finished a little West of Little Langdale.
I will be doing a video this week and I think there will be some good footage.
We talked about doing a weekend up there at some point. Maybe do this route again one day, and do it reverse direction the next.
Fancy it?

Re: Pictures of laning in the Lake District
Want!
I think I need to drive up there and spend a week or two driving around, camping, orienteering, cycling, kayaking etc...
Windermere is only 295 miles for me. Which in my SJ is about £150 in fuel both ways - so not actually terrible money to get to one of the most beautiful places on earth.
I've driven through it before, and I know for a fact that it's one of the most beautiful places on earth, and that I must show it to my gal. It's the law.

Of course you can, there never seems to be too many local lads able to turn out.Jordi wrote:I think i need to get my Zuk sorted and tag along some time if that's ok.
